A single air sample is a coin flip. A real assessment is a forensic, multi-layer investigation — a conversation, a visual scan, thermal imaging, moisture metering, borescope work, and strategic sampling. Each layer is a data point. Together they give the picture building science actually requires.
A 30 minute walkthrough is not a real assessment.
A thorough inspection is not a fly-through with a clipboard. It starts with a detailed client interview — understanding the occupants health and symptoms, the history of the home, renovations, the HVAC, and more. Numerous deliberate steps are taken before a single sample is taken. Shortcuts in the beginning are what lead to recurring problems in the future.
